Leakage test rig

TEMES ta.luft

The TEMES ta.luft test rig was designed for gasket type testing in real flanged connections according to the German TA-Luft (German “Clean Air Act”). Here the sealing behavior is determined after exposure to elevated temperature, as detailed in the VDI Guidelines 2440 and 2200.

The gasket is compressed between two flanges with special measurement bolts, which enable the applied bolt force to be measured using digital indicators. The test flange can then be exposed to a maximum temperature of 400 °C / 750 °F in an oven. After cooling down to room temperature the test flange is placed in a vacuum chamber and connected to a leakage measurement unit. The leak rate is measured with a helium mass spectrometer.

Used in Our Lab

Aside from offering the TEMES ta.luft test rig for purchase, this device is used in our testing laboratory, too. So we gain daily practical knowledge with our equipment, and are able to further development based on practical experience.
